Vimeo is down

Around 3:45pm on Tuesday, June 15 the giant video hosting website Vimeo.com went down. I edited a website that had embedded video from vimeo, uploaded some changes, and checked it for quality. A few minutes later, my client called me asking why the videos weren’t working. The problem was that Vimeo went down. Even my church hosts videos there. There are thousands of videos hosted on Vimeo so this is going to be fun to watch – or NOT watch as the case may be.

Update in the evening:
It’s back up again – don’t know when or how.

Media Wife

Here’s my wife, Heather, and I in our Media Services uniforms at The Orchard Evangelical Free Church. Heather ran the CG (Computer Graphics) for the annual business meeting.

Date with Alexis

It took a while to act on this well intentioned date with Alexis. She is learning to read so we went to Barnes & Nobles to read some books – I read to her and she to me. It was especially nice since there were lots of Father’s Day books available. I read the first book about the Berenstain Bears and then we took a break. Since it was 90F outside, Alexis enjoyed a strawberry cream icy beverage. She got so cold that she snuggled up into my lap. Lastly, Alexis read a book called, “My Dad” which told of all the adventures of a father’s imagination. But the part of the book that was true was that Dad loves his little girl.

Date with Rachel

This date with Rachel took us to Target to return some items from the “Garden”ing party and to buy Rachel some “hair pretties” (hair clips). Rachel seemed to enjoy herself most at Menards when we played in the indoor playground. She said that next date we had to do something fun. Well, at least her hair looks better.

Garden”ing” Party

We threw a Garden Party for Alexis’s and Rachel’s fifth birthday. The idea started with the idea of a “Garden Party” for their birthday. Since it was spring and the family wanted to plant a new garden, I decided that a “Garden’ing’ Party” would be fun. Instead of toys, everyone would bring plants and seeds for the garden. Heather did not like the idea at first but eventually went along with my untamed imagination. The party went great. There were fourteen children who enjoyed face painting, “pin the butterfly on the flower,” and a caterpillar cake. Each child planted a baby snapdragon flower in a pot to take home. It rained the night before so the garden was muddy. So the children took off their shoes and played in the dirt – squishing mud between their toes. Each plant is labeled with the name of the person who gave it. At the end of the summer the twins will share back the crops with all their friends.

Date with Rachel

Rachel’s date consisted of a tour of Hancock Fabrics and a trip to Menard’s to buy some lights. At Hancocks we purchased some purple ribbon for Rachel’s hair and a package of Twizzer’s candy.

Red tongue from DQ

Red tongue from DQ

This date was fun going to the pet store and then for some ice cream. Spring weather has arrived but not enough to merit a date at the park. So we enjoyed God’s creation at The Birds and Beasts pet store in Crystal Lake. They stock some strange critters like whip scorpions, reptiles, tropical birds, sting rays, coral, and lots of exotic fish.
